JSF BERLIN: Curator's tour of „Ulysses Jenkins: Without Your Interpret“ by Erin Christovale
ERIN CHRISTOVALE is a curator at the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles. She is also co-founder, with Amir George, of the experimental film program Black Radical Imagination. She has organized a number of exhibitions, including a/wake in the water: Meditations on Disaster, Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts (2014); Memoirs of A Watermelon Woman and A Subtle Likeness, ONE National Gay and Lesbian Archives, Los Angeles (both 2016); and S/Election: Democracy, Citizenship, Freedom, Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery (2016). She co-curated the 2018 edition of the Hammer Museum’s biennial, Made in L.A., with Anne Ellegood. Recent projects at the Hammer include solo presentations of the artists Jamilah Sabur (2019) and Ja’Tovia Gary (2020), and belonging (2019), a collection show responding to bell hooks’s 1990 collection of essays Belonging: A Culture of Place.
